Welcome to the Department of Aerospace Studies!
AFROTC Det. 847 was established in 1971 and has expanded dramatically. Since 1971, the detachment has commissioned over 500 top-notch 2nd Lieutenants. Currently, there are almost 100 cadets in the Cadet Corps. The 847th Cadet Wing continues to be one of the premier organizations on the ASU campus and also one of the best detachments in the nation. Det. 847 has been the recipient of many prestigious national awards. Det. 847 has a proud tradition of excellence that stretches over a quarter of a century.

Air Force ROTC offers a wide and diverse program at ASU which:

While in college:
- you may qualify for tuition, books and fee scholarships
- $300-500 tax-free income each academic month when contracted
- base visits, national/regional conferences, and free military travel
- up to $1,500 per year in Carr ROTC scholarships (a scholarship specifically for ASU students in AFROTC)
