Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (B.A.A.S.) Overview

Put Your Associate Degree to Work

ASU’s Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences is designed to be a pathway to completing a bachelor’s  degree for students who have already earned an associate degree from an accredited institution of higher education.

Your associate degree may be in any area, including technical (non-academic) degrees. Your specialization may also be chosen from the available options, although selecting a specialization to match your associate degree preparation will allow you to begin the required upper-division courses right away.

Transferring Your Credits

Academic courses taken either as part of your associate degree or independent of it may apply toward ASU’s core curriculum requirements.

Associate degrees from Texas community colleges include at least 9-15 semester credit hours of academic coursework that may be counted toward ASU’s core curriculum requirements. However, transferring fewer than 12 credit hours of academic coursework may require you to extend your bachelor’s degree beyond 120 hours.

Specialization Areas

  • Criminal Justice
  • Homeland Security
