Music Program Auditions

All students must audition and be accepted into the Department to be considered music majors.  Auditions for prospective students take place throughout the academic year and auditions for currently enrolled students may be scheduled with the appropriate studio instructor and the Department office.  A minimum of three faculty members must be present for an entrance audition.

Students may be accepted into the program in two (2) different ways: full acceptance or conditional acceptance.  A student who is fully accepted into the program has all rights and responsibilities of the music major at the time of matriculation.  A student who is accepted conditionally must successfully complete one semester of studio instruction, as well as other courses deemed appropriate.  Full acceptance of a conditional student will be determined by the faculty committee upon completion of the jury at the end of the conditional semester.
