Medical Technology Degree Planning Form
This degree is designed for the student who is planning a career in medical technology. Following graduation, the student is eligible to take a national certifying exam.
To register for the medical technology program during the senior year, a student must have completed three years of the University degree program in medical technology with a grade point average of not less than 2.5 overall and 2.5 in biology and 2.5 in chemistry. The student must also be recommended for the medical technology courses by the Head of the Department of Biology and must be accepted by the hospital at which the student plans to intern. Students are eligible to apply to any hospital with which Angelo State University has an affiliation agreement. Admission requirements for each of the hospitals differ; therefore, it is important students interested in a Medical Technology degree contact the Medical Technology Advisor as soon as possible to discuss admission policies. Regular student conferences with this advisor are essential.
