Research Agreement Forms
Once you and your faculty advisor have agreed on a research project you will need to fill out a research agreement form and turn it in to the Biology office so that you can get credit for conducting your research. Instructions for filling out the forms are below.
Instructions
- Each form may be either printed out and filled out (neatly) by hand
- You are held to the same character limits as those for typed text-all character limits include spaces:
- Course title - 70 characters
- Course description - 150 characters
- Suggested Title - 70 characters
- RAMS title - 28 characters (see below)
- Project description - 1500 characters
OR
- Information can be entered online and then printed out.
- You will NOT be able to save the information you enter into the form unless you own a copy of Adobe Acrobat.
- For each field, place the cursor either next to or below the field (Description of Project Requirements only) and begin typing in the information requested.
- If you click next to the field name then allow the cursor to hover over the field, a field hint will come up that will give you information concerning format and character limits. All character limits include spaces.
- The RAMS Title should be descriptive and MUST NOT exceed 28 characters INCLUDING spaces. This limit is set by the RAMS system software not by the Biology department. This is the title that will appear on your course schedule list for registration purposes and in your advisors list of courses taught.
- The Project Description should be detailed enough so that it is clear what you will be doing and how credit will be earned. Make sure that you and your advisor are of the same understanding for this.
- Turn the completed form in to the Biology Office
- Graduate students will be expected to walk the form over the the Graduate Office to obtain the Graduate Dean's signature AFTER your advisor and the Department Head have signed the form.
