Science Scholarships

Welch Research Scholarship

This scholarship is open to chemistry and biochemistry majors who wish to do research at Angelo State University with a professor in our department. A call for research proposals for this scholarship is sent out toward the end of each fall and spring semester. Current distributions are $1,500 and $3,200 for long semesters and summer research, respectively.

Departmental Scholarships

• Dr. Merrill W. Everhart
  This scholarship is available to juniors majoring in the natural sciences with a 3.0 or better GPA. One scholarship is available per year.
• Delbert Tarter
  This scholarship is provided to deserving students majoring in chemistry. Usually, one scholarship is awarded per year.
• Olson-Buttery
  This scholarship is open to deserving students majoring in pre-pharmacy, pre-medicine or nursing.
• San Angelo Community Medical Center Auxiliary Scholarship
  This scholarship is awarded annually to a graduate of a Texas high school who is a junior or senior at ASU majoring in any medical or medically related field.
