Dr. David J. Tarver

Dr. David J. Tarver, Professor of Curriculum & Instruction, joined the Angelo State University faculty in 2000. Dr. Tarver holds an earned doctorate in counseling from East Texas State University, a master's degree in counseling from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin, and a bachelor's degree in biology from Tarleton State University. He holds Texas public school teaching certificates in biology and English, as well state certification as School Counselor. Additionally, Dr. Tarver is a Texas Licensed Professional Counselor and Supervisor.

Dr. Tarver was the 2007-08 ASU Faculty Senate President.

Dr. Tarver enjoys the outdoors, especially bicycling, walking, bird watching, and photography. Dr. Tarver and his wife Debbie live with their twin Yorkshire Terriers ( Hannah and Harley) and many Ornate Box Turtles.
