Dr. Amy Williamson

Dr. Amy M. Williamson, Assistant Professor in Curriculum and Instruction, joined the Angelo State University faculty in the Summer of 2009.
Dr. Williamson earned her Ed.D. with an emphasis in literacy from Baylor University, an M.Ed. from American Intercontinental University in Instructional Technology, and a B.A. in English with a minor in Spanish from Valdosta State University. Dr. Williamson taught American Literature and AP Literature and Composition in Georgia and has worked with students in all grades in the areas of reading and writing. She has been teaching pre-service teachers on reading and writing across the curriculum for several years.
Dr. Williamson’s areas of research interest include at risk students, literacy strategies, and diversity within the classroom. Her primary tasks at ASU, in addition to teaching, will be serving as program advisor for 4-8 math, science, and social studies teaching candidates, as well as secondary teaching candidates of all areas.
Dr. Williamson’s teaching certifications include: Principal, ESL Supplemental, Gifted Supplemental, Master Reading Teacher, Special Education, Reading Specialist, and ELAR 8-12.
