Arrivals & Placement Testing
New students are required to attend ELLI and Immigration Orientations. Students not submitting official TOEFL, TOEIC, or IELTS scores are required to sit for placement testing. Arrival times will be published in advance of new terms. Students not arriving on time for orientation and testing (if necessary) will be fined $100 as this creates additional processing time.
There are two ways an ELLI student may be placed into the program. The student may submit an official TOEFL, IELTS, or TOEIC score with their admission packet. Students choosing this option will be placed as follows:
|Level 1||Level 2||Level 3||Level 4||Level 5||Level 6|
A student may also sit for placement testing after arrival in San Angelo. This testing will be administered by the ELLI program. Students who have submitted an official score but who wish to retest, may do so. The highest placement result will be used to determine students’ level and coursework.
