Study Abroad Programs

The Center for International Studies offers several study abroad options to help you enrich your ASU college experience. You may choose to study abroad during the summer terms or choose one of our semester or academic year programs.

We offer programs in Africa, Caribbean, China, Costa Rica, Panama, Fiji, New Zealand, France, Germany, Belgium, Italy, United Kingdom, Greece, Bulgaria, Turkey, South Korea, and Spain. Study abroad programs are open to students of all majors.

January Intersession

Intersession programs are a great option for those students who do not have the time to be away for month long summer programs. These programs will consist of one three hour credit course which will count toward spring semester enrollment. Courses are taught by ASU faculty members.

Summer Programs

Summer programs are ideal for students who are studying abroad for the first time. These programs last about a month and feature courses taught by ASU faculty. ASU faculty members who are experienced in directing study abroad programs accompany students.

Semester Programs

Semester programs are a good option for students who want to study abroad for three to four months. These programs offer a greater selection of coursework, and students are not accompanied by faculty directors. Skills in languages other than English may be required.

Academic Year Programs

Academic year programs allow students to study abroad for a year. These programs are similar to the semester programs in all aspects other than duration. Skills in languages other than English may be required.
