The above professional degree plan meets all core curriculum and Bachelor of Arts degree requirements. The B.A. degree with a major in Communication with teacher certification requires a minimum of 123 semester credit hours, a minimum of 42 advanced (junior and senior level) semester credit hours, and a minimum of 30 semester credit hours in residence. 24 of the last 30 hours required to complete this degree must be taken in residence.

Secondary Teacher Certification: The student who chooses communication as a teaching field must complete: Communication 1361, 2301, 2311, 2331, 3321, 3311 or 4311, 4352, 4361, and 6 advanced semester hours.

* Degree and teacher certification requirements often will exceed the normal 120-semester-hour minimum for a baccalaureate degree.
