Dr. Marcia Broughton

Hello! I'm Marcia Broughton and I teach in the Early Childhood area of the EC-4 Teacher Preparation program. I have recently relocated after a long career in Early Childhood Teacher Education at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley.

My home state is Minnesota and I studied for my bachelor's degree at St. Olaf College in Northfield. I traveled to the Pacific Northwest to study for my master's degree at Washington State University in Pullman. Years and experiences later, I studied for my doctorate at Colorado State University in Fort Collins.

My husband, George, has come with me to Texas, but we left three of our four children in Colorado. They're young adults and can now be safely left on their own! We have moved closer to one of our children and grandchildren. Our oldest daughter and her family live presently in San Antonio. I am the grandmother of girl and boy twins, almost three years old.

When not attending to educational pursuits, I ride motorcycles! I have a big one of my very own! We're eager to explore West Texas. I also enjoy sewing, quilting and other fabric crafts, the outdoors, cooking and reading!
