Dr. Linda Lucksinger

Dr. Linda Lucksinger

Dr. Lucksinger, Department Head of Teacher Education, began her career at ASU in May 2007.

Dr. Lucksinger is a native Texan with over 14 years experience in Texas public schools and over 16 years of experience in higher education. She holds a Ph.D. from Texas A&M University, in Educational Psychology with specialization in Gifted and Talented Education, a master's degree in Education from Texas State University-San Marcos (formerly Southwest Texas State University), and a bachelor's degree in Education from the University of Houston.

Prior to ASU, Dr. Lucksinger was at Sul Ross State University in Alpine where she served as Chair, Director of Teacher Education, and Certification Officer in the Department of Teacher Education in addition to teaching in the graduate and undergraduate programs. Prior to SRSU she was with Schreiner University in Kerrville where she served as Director of Teacher Education, Certification Officer, and Director of Field Experiences in addition to teaching in the graduate and undergraduate programs.

During her public school teaching, Dr. Lucksinger worked in Aldine ISD, Lampasas ISD, Burnet CISD, Llano ISD, and Rosebud-Lott ISD at various grade levels and in various capacities. She enjoys teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, directing the Teacher Education department, and advising students as they pursue careers in education.

Dr. Lucksinger enjoys hiking, bicycling, swimming, traveling, reading, and spending time outdoors with her husband and Nina, the family dog.
