Dr. Leeann Moore
Dr. Moore returned to her West Texas roots after years in the Pacific Northwest. Dr. Moore has taught over 20 years in public schools in Texas, Utah and Washington. She taught all grades K-5 and multiage classrooms. In addition she has taught a number of years in higher education at Whitworth College, Eastern Washington University and Texas A&M-Commerce. She received her B.S. from Texas Tech (Go Raiders!), M.Ed. from the University of Utah, and Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Gonzaga University (Go Zags!).
She is a Senior Consultant with the Center for Organizational Reform in Washington. Research interests are varied from organizational change to student teachers to portrayal of teachers in children's literature and modern film. Her dissertation on student teacher placement decision-making was named the National Dissertation of the Year in Teacher Education for 2000.
Dr. Moore's grandparents homesteaded the family farm in Mitchell County over 105 years ago. Her father and mother (also a teacher) maintained the farming/cattle heritage, and now she and her husband, Gene Kuhel, are managing the operations. Hobbies include renovation of the 105 year old family farmhouse, traveling, reading, gardening, fishing, genealogy, white water rafting, and caring for their many animals.
