| Individual Meeting |
Each participant will meet with a program coordinator to properly assess the needs of the student and to build individual connections. |
| Power Lunches |
Participants will meet a minimum four times per semester to learn college survival skills and to meet first–generation professionals from the San Angelo community. Topics can include study skills, time management, conflict resolution, relationship building, financial aid opportunities, money management, and ASU support services. |
| Cultural Capital |
Provide the students with a cultural activity that will be scheduled by the program coordinators. |
| Mentor Activities |
Each freshman participant will be matched with a first–generation student who has been at ASU at least two long semesters. Mentors are expected to attend all activities and to maintain contact with their mentee throughout their involvement with the program. |
| Volunteer Service |
Participants will select a volunteer service opportunity for which they will provide their time and/or talents either on campus or in the San Angelo community. |
| Banquet |
The program will conclude with a banquet and two scholarships will be awarded to an outstanding mentor and mentee. |
