Letter From the Dean

imageWelcome to ASU!

As dean of the Freshman College, I am proud to introduce ASU’s specialized strategy for enhancing student engagement and academic success by integrating academic workshops, Early Alert, Pre-declared advising, Signature Courses, and SMART Learning resources.

The Freshman College  was established at Angelo State University in the fall of 2012 to improve our students’ undergraduate experience with particular emphasis on their first year. Home to a variety of university-wide programs, the Freshman College provides first-year students with an enriched educational experience leading to the successful completion of an academic degree. The Freshman College also assists students with their first-year transition and introduces them to the rigors of college academics, as well as the demands of university life.
