Animal Science (MS)
Prerequisites
Completion of a minimum of 24 semester credit hours of undergraduate course
work in animal science, agriculture, range management, wildlife management,
or agronomy, including 12 semester credit hours of advanced course work.

[GPA times 200] + GRE quantitative + GRE analytical writing conversion (AWC)
= at least 1500 for regular admission.
Biology (MS)
Prerequisites
Completion of a minimum of 24 semester credit hours of undergraduate course
work in biology, including 12 semester credit hours of advanced course work
(to include cell biology, evolution, ecology, biostatistics). A B.S. or
B.A. in biology or a related discipline (i.e., zoology, botany, microbiology,
wildlife ecology).

Education (MEd and MA)
Prerequisites
Hold a Texas Teacher Certificate or equivalent (not required for the MEd
in Student Development and Leadership or the MA in Curriculum and Instruction:

Interdisciplinary Studies (MA or MS)
Prerequisites
Sufficient undergraduate course work in each of the three disciplines chosen
for the degree so that prerequisite requirements for the graduate courses
taken are met.

conversion (AWC) = at least 1900 for regular admission.
Kinesiology (MS)
Prerequisites
Completion of a minimum of 24 semester credit hours of undergraduate course
work in kinesiology, including 12 semester credit hours of advanced course
work. Students with other undergraduate majors will be considered.
Formula
[GPA times 200] + the sum of the two higher of [GRE verbal, GRE quantitative,
or GRE (AWC**)] = at least 1500.
Nursing (MSN)
Prerequisites
A baccalaureate degree in nursing from a program accredited by the National
League for Nursing Accrediting Commission or the AACN Commission on collegiate
Nursing Education.
Statistics (with a grade of C or higher)
Current license or eligibility for licensure as a registered professional
nurse in Texas.
Computer Literacy.
Minimum of two years clinical practice as an RN.
Demonstrated proficiency in health assessment.
Two professional references.
Formula
None. The faculty recommend a minimum GPA of 3.0 and a minimum GRE score
of 1000 (verbal + quantitative).
Physical Therapy (PT)
Each cohort is limited to 20 students.
Physical Therapy applicants must pass through a two-stage process.

Psychology (MS)
A. Counseling Psychology & General Psychology
Prerequisites
Complete a minimum of 24 semester credit hours, including 12 advanced hours,
of undergraduate course work in psychology, to include research methods,
statistical methods, and any three of: learning and cognition, motivation,
personality, history of psychology, abnormal psychology, and physiological
psychology.
Formula
[GPA times 200] + the average of the GRE verbal/quantitative/analytical
writing conversion** scores = at least 1050.
Using the last 60 undergraduate hours GPA, the minimum Formula score
is 1100.
B. Ind/Org Psychology
Prerequisites
Complete a minimum of 24 sch, including 12 advanced hours, of undergraduate
psychology.
A writing sample, preferably a graded research paper completed as part of
an undergraduate degree.
3 letters of recommendation, two of which must be from academic sources.
Formula
None. The faculty recommend at least 450 Verbal, 500 Quantitative and a
4.0 Analytical Writing.
Public Administration (MPA)
Prerequisites
Complete a minimum of 24 semester credit hours in the academic disciplines
of public administration, political science, psychology, business, or the
social sciences, of which at least 12 are advanced undergraduate hours.
Formula
[GPA times 200] + GRE verbal + GRE analytical writing conversion (AWC) =
at least 1500 for regular admission.
Non-Degree Areas of Study
Admission rewquirements for a ll non-degree programs are the same as for
the degree programs in the departmental area in which they reside, with
the exception of Non-Degree Grant Programs. Non-Degree Grant Programs are
program specific. The interested applicant should check with the department
in which the program resides.
