Welcome to the College of Graduate Studies

Dear Prospective Graduate Students,

I am very pleased that you have chosen to continue your education with us. I am extremely proud of the academic credentials of our graduate faculty and am confident that you will prosper under their caring tutelage.

Since it is difficult to get all new graduate students together on campus to have an “official” orientation, this site was designed to serve as a general orientation to the university.

This site is envisioned to be a supplement to the more formal Graduate Catalog and the Angelo State University Student Handbook. Both of these publications are available on the ASU website or they can be picked up in the College of Graduate Studies and the Student Life Office. You should refer to these publications for the policies, rules and regulations, and general information regarding academic and student conduct matters.

Not all of a person’s education takes place in the classroom. When on a college campus, a graduate student should become actively involved in campus life as much as possible. Because most graduate students live off campus, they are often not aware of the services and resources available to them on campus.

This site contains a summary of the College of Graduate Studies procedures that are most often required of you during your tenure at ASU. I hope this site reduces some of the confusion that may result from being a graduate student at ASU. It is my desire that your time here as a graduate student be both productive and pleasant.
