Is the GRE/GMAT offered in San Angelo?
Neither the GRE nor the GMAT is offered in San Angelo. All exams are computerized and are offered in many places throughout Texas. Please call one of the closest places to San Angelo that offer the exam in order to register and schedule a testing date: Abilene (325)698-7858, Midland (432)520-9418, San Antonio (210)494-7263 or (210)431-4370, and Austin (512)232-2643 or (512)441-1978.
Do I take the General GRE or Subject GRE Exam?
You will need to take the General GRE exam if you plan to enroll in any program at ASU except the MBA in Accounting or Business Administration or the Master's of Professional Accountancy. These programs require you to take the GMAT exam.
What is the best way to study for the GRE/GMAT?
Get sample exams for the GRE or the GMAT. Learn how to take the test so you can concentrate on taking the test when you actually get into the exam. Useful sites are Peterson's and The Princeton Review. You are also welcome to make reservations to attend ASU's GRE Workshop, which is held once every fall and spring semester.
How high do I need to score on the GRE/GMAT/TOEFL/IELTS?
We do not have set scores that you have to make on the GRE/GMAT exams. The scores are looked at along with your undergraduate overall GPA, your last 60 hour GPA, and your essay.
For international students, there are minimum score requirements on the TOEFL/IELTS exams. Scores cannot be more than two years old and the minimum TOEFL score is 550, with at least 55 on each of the three parts (paper and pencil test) or 213, with at least 17 on each of the three parts (computer- based test) for all programs except Physical Therapy, which requires a 600 (paper and pencil test) or 250 (computer-based test.) A score of 7 (with a minimum of 6.5 on each part) is ideal for the IELTS.
Can I get Provisional Admission without submitting GRE/GMAT scores with my application?
If your undergraduate overall GPA is greater than or equal to 3.0, then you may enroll in one semester of graduate courses before we evaluate your scores (exceptions to this rule are the Psychology and Physical Therapy Programs where GRE scores must be submitted before your application will be reviewed). Please note that you are being accepted into the College of Graduate Studies and NOT a specific program. Once we have evaluated your GRE/GMAT scores, you will then either be accepted or denied admission into a specific program. All international students are required to submit GRE/GMAT scores before your application will be reviewed.
What happens if I get accepted Provisionally and then do poorly on my GRE/GMAT exam?
When you were accepted Provisionally, you were accepted into the College of Graduate Studies and NOT a specific program. Once we have evaluated your GRE/GMAT scores, you will then either be accepted or denied admission into a specific program.
