Program Information

I want to welcome you to Angelo State University. My name is Mary Sanders and I am the advisor to the Masters of Education Educational Diagnostics Program here at Angelo State. Let me explain the content of our program.

Our program encompasses a total of 39 semester hours. We have five courses, 15 hours, in the educational foundation area and eight courses in diagnostic specialization courses. Our foundation courses are the same as those for other majors offered in the College of Education. The specialization courses are: psychology of children with cognitive disabilities, education of exceptional children, appraisal of learning disabilities, language disorders of children, special methods and materials for teaching children with cognitive disabilities, teaching children with learning and behavior disorders, problems in the education of students with mild disabilities and individual testing. We also have one course in which the candidate is in the school working as an educational diagnostician under the supervision of a certified diagnostician.

One common question is "how long will it take to complete this course of study?" Many students complete the degree in educational diagnostics as they concurrently work in schools as teachers to fulfill the two years teaching requirement.

If you have any questions about the field of educational diagnostics, please contact me by telephone or E-mail.
