Annual Awards Banquet
This is an opportunity for the College of Graduate Studies to honor and recognize its outstanding students. The banquet is held yearly during the spring term. Students are recognized for outstanding graduate GPAs as well as outstanding work performed in the classroom and in the field. Currently enrolled graduate students are invited. Tickets are sold in advance.2007 Awards
- The special award as top graduate student was given to Corey Owens of Big Lake for his exceptional graduate work and research in Animal Science.
- The distinguished graduate student from the College of Business; Susan C. Wallis, a Professional Accountancy major from Colorado City, Texas.
- The distinguished graduate student from the College of Liberal and Fine Arts; Kalton R. May, a Counseling Psychology major from San Angelo, Texas.
- The distinguished graduate student from the College of Sciences; Jerrie Smithwick, an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse major from San Angelo, Texas.
- The distinguished graduate student from the College of Education; Wendy Boatright, a Reading Specialist major from San Angelo, Texas.

The Who, What, Where, When, and Why about the Graduate Record Examination (February 16, 2008; 9:00am-1:00pm) Dr. Carol B. Diminnie, the Graduate Dean, presents the seminar and answers your questions about preparing for the Graduate Record Examination. For those of you who are planning to take it within the year, we encourage you to make arrangements to attend the next seminar during the Spring 2008 semester.
