Honors Program Advising
Procedures for Honors Program Advising
- Make an appointment with your Honors departmental academic advisor. Take along your Honors Program Degree Planning Form to determine your schedule for the following semester. Your academic advisor will release your advising hold.
- Make an appointment for Honors Program advising with the Honors Advisor. Students who have not had their advising holds released by their academic advisor, cannot be advised by the Honors Advisor until they do so.
- The Honors Advisor will review your schedule and make certain that you are on track with your Honors Program Degree Planning Form.
- If there are no changes to the Honors Program Degree Planning Form, the Honors Advisor will initial the form, have you sign it and release your Honors advising hold.
- Any changes to the Honors Program Degree Planning Form must be approved by the Honors Program Director before your Honors advising hold can be released.
- All relevant documents will be provided to you by the Honors Advisor.
- IMPORTANT: You will receive an electronic permit to register for the Honors courses indicated on your Honors Program Degree Planning Form for the upcoming semester. You will still need to register for these courses!
- Once your academic advising and your Honors advising holds have been released, you may register for your courses at the same time as senior students can register.
- After you register, you must provide a copy of your completed schedule to the Honors Program staff by the end of the regular freshman registration period.
- All forms will then be updated and returned to your Honors Program file.
