Student Benefits
Students will receive several benefits as a result of being part of the Honors Program. Details concerning these benefits are provided below.
Academic
Honors Program students will have a distinct advantage over students who are not in the Honors Program when they apply to
professional or graduate schools.
Registration Privileges
Honors Program students will be able to register earlier than students with their same classification.
Students will be able to register at the same time as graduate and senior students. This presents a significant
advantage to planning your academic schedule for the upcoming semester.
Personal Attention
Honors Program students will enjoy smaller class sizes. This enhanced contact with faculty will provide more fulfilling
classroom discussions. Faculty will therefore be able to provide better letters of recommendation.
Housing
Honors Program students will be provided a designated residence space in a residence hall. Texan Hall is now designated
as an honors hall. The following students may reside in the honors designated section of Texan Hall: Students who
are members of the Honors Program, students who meet one of the criteria for the Honors Program or students
who have a 3.00 GPA at ASU. For more information please visit the Residence Life website.
Guest Speakers
Honors Program students will receive special access to distinguished speakers who participate in various lectureships
sponsored by ASU.
Mentors
Honors Program students will also have access to mentors at designated times throughout the week.
These mentors will provide students with advice, encouragement and information concerning Honors Program requirements and
guidelines.
Copies
Students are able to make copies in the Honors Program lounge.
Lounge
Honors Program students will have access to an Honors Program lounge located in the third floor of the Porter Henderson Library.
This lounge will have a computer area, visiting area and study area as well as a conference table for student meetings.
Travel
Honors Program students whose research is accepted for presentation at a meeting will be allowed access to travel funds.
Additionally, students will have the opportunity to travel to regional Honors meetings, particularly if they have a paper
to present.
Physical Therapy Priority Acceptance Program
The Honors Program in collaboration with the Physical Therapy department has just completed the Physical Therapy
Priority Acceptance Program. Among other things, this program will provide honors students with better preparation for
