Faculty Benefits

This page is provided for faculty members that may want to consider getting involved with the Honors Program.

Faculty fringe benefits include the following:

  1. Direct access to some of the best and brightest students who attend Angelo State University.
  2. The opportunity to present papers at various meetings across the nation.
    These meetings may include:
    1. National Collegiate Honors Council meeting held in the fall.
    2. The Lilly Conference on College Teaching in Oxford, Ohio.
      One faculty member who teaches an honors course in the Honors Program will be chosen each year to attend this conference with other ASU faculty members. Student input will play a major role in selection of the faculty member.
    3. Great Plains Honors Council meeting held in the spring.
  3. The opportunity to try new academic approaches to teaching materials.
    Honors programs are often the academic laboratories of colleges where faculty can use novel teaching methods in their courses.

    The following faculty members have taught a course in the Honors Program.
    Faculty are encouraged to contact them to discuss the Honors Program and course development issues.
