Honors Scholarships
The Honors Program provides scholarships to current honors students after their first full year in
the Honors Program. The requirements for receiving this scholarship for entering freshman and
spring entry students are provided below:
- Must turn in your Honors Program application before the priority deadline (April 14, 2008)*
- Must take at least one honors course each fall and spring semester (NOTE: Option Two students are not subject to this requirement.)
- Must regularly attend Honors Student Association meetings and events
- Must have a cumulative 3.25 GPA
- Must finish freshman and sophomore Honors Program coursework by the end of their 3rd year at ASU.
- Must abide by the Honors Student Handbook
Option One students receive $3,000 while Option Two students receive $1,500 per academic
year split between the fall and spring semester.
Students who enter the Honors Program after graduation from a community college Honors
Program that is a member of GPHC and NCHC must meet the following requirements and are
immediately eligible to receive a $3,000 scholarship per academic year split between the fall and
spring semester:
- Must turn in your Honors Program application before the priority deadline (April 14,
2008)* - Must take at least one honors course each fall and spring semester
- Must regularly attend Honors Student Association meetings and events
- Must have a cumulative 3.25 GPA
- Must abide by the Honors Student Handbook
*Scholarship eligibility may be considered for applications received after the priority deadline to
the extent that funds are available.
Students must remain in the Honors Program in order to receive their spring scholarship
disbursement.
Honors Advantage Scholarships
Entering pre-medicine and pre-law students who attain a 1300 SAT or 29 ACT may be eligible for the Honors Advantage Scholarship ($3,000 per academic year split between the fall and spring semester). These students must enter the ASU Honors Program as a high school graduate and they must not have matriculated into any other college following high school graduation. Scholarships represented by the Honors Program
The Honors Program also serves as the representative office on campus for some prestigious national scholarship programs. Any student at Angelo State University may apply for these scholarships provided that they meet the eligibility guidelines.
