Student Eligibility
The program is open to 20 undergraduate and 10 graduate currently enrolled ASU students in good standing who are in academic programs for which the classes offered are appropriate. Student participants normally will be full-time undergraduate and graduate students. The selection of students to participate in the program will be the responsibility of the faculty directors and will be based on a number of criteria, including: the student's classification, academic program, GPA, and ability to relate cooperatively with all group members. Students must satisfy the faculty directors that they are committed to the educational objectives of the program in order to be selected.
Students who participate in these programs are expected to conform to the policies, rules, and regulations governing student conduct adopted by the Board of Regents and the Administration of Angelo State University. Copies of these policies, rules, and regulations are provided in the 2007-2008 Student Handbook. By registering in an international studies program, the students voluntarily undertake to comply with these regulations. It should be emphasized that participants are also responsible for obeying the local and national laws of the country in which they are studying, as well as for conducting themselves in a manner consistent with local customs. Participants in these programs are subject to such reasonable disciplinary action as the Administration of the University may consider appropriate, including suspension, dismissal, and expulsion.
Language Proficiency
While in the United Kingdom English will be the primary language. All classes are taught in English.
Program Cost
Please refer to the Costs page for more information.
Refunds
All costs are based on the number of students participating in the program. Refunds of payments to ASU can be made only for funds that can be recovered from the travel agent, airlines, and others without increasing the cost to participating students.
Financial Aid
The Carr International Studies Scholarships will pay for various course-related expenses for students who participate in study abroad, leaving the students to provide only their standard tuition and fees and personal spending money. The new scholarships will not affect the funds available for existing Carr Academic, ROTC or Student Research Scholarships.
Early payment is necessary in order to secure transportation and accommodations for the group. Emergency loans may be available through the Office of Financial Aid to help students meet payment deadlines while waiting for scholarships or grants to be paid. Apply early, as funds are usually limited.
