Student Advising Checklist for the Department of Kinesiology!
Here are some suggested steps to help you prepare. If you have any questions about this process, please contact the Department of Kinesiology. We will be very pleased to help you.
- 1. Access the schedule of classes that is available online.
- 2. Visit your advisor's office as soon as possible to sign up for an appointment.*
- 3. From the ASU website ( www.angelo.edu ), login to RamPort , then RAMS Login , then Student Services and Financial Aid . There you will find a menu that includes Student Records . This will take you to another menu that includes Degree Evaluation . If you have already applied for a degree plan, a Detailed Degree Evaluation will come up. If not, follow the prompts to generate one for your major and minor. This will tell you what course and other requirements that you have successfully completed and the courses and other requirements that you still lack.
- 4. Print the Detailed Degree Evaluation .
- 5. Use the schedule and degree evaluation to compose a tentative schedule using the kinesiology department student advising form. (Note: this is the same form as the College of Education Student Advising Form ; and is found online at the link provided).
- 6. Bring both of these documents (detailed degree evaluation and kinesiology class schedule form) to your advising appointment . Please be on time and be prepared to ask any questions that you might have.
- 7. Once you have been advised, your advising hold will be removed, which will allow you to register. This can be done on-line or in the registrar's office.
- 8. If, by the end of this semester, you will have earned 60 or more hours, you will need to Apply for an Undergraduate Degree Plan before you leave.
*Note: Each advisor sets his or her own schedule for advising. Some require that you sign up to be advised while others advise students during their regularly scheduled office hours. See your advisor for details .
