ASUFirst
Program Description and Purpose
This program was created for West Texas-area high school students who are considering becoming the first in their families to attend college. ASUFirst gives these first-generation students their first glimpse into the realities of attending college. It is our goal to show these students that Angelo State University is a viable choice for an affordable, high-quality, and close-to-home college experience.
Goals
- ASUFirst provides prospective students with information about the admissions process, financial aid options and first-generation programs available at Angelo State University
- ASUFirst allows prospective students the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the campus of Angelo State University and to experience various aspects of college life, including lunch in the University Dining Facilities
- ASUFirst allows prospective students to interact with and learn from current first-generation students attending Angelo State University
- ASUFirst provides information regarding the various student services available at Angelo State University
Participants
ASUFirst is open to first-generation students (neither parent holds a two- or four-year degree from an institution of higher learning) who are current juniors or seniors at high schools in ESC Regions XIV, XV, and XVIII.
