  • Host Mentoring Program

The Host Mentoring Program facilitates student’s transition into university life by building campus relationships between first-year students, ASU faculty and staff, and San Angelo community professionals. The program provides students with cognitive and practical skill development for academic motivation and perseverance. Students also develop relations for future opportunities beyond graduation.

Our vision is to create programs/events where students can connect with faculty and staff outside of the classroom on our ASU campus. We provide support by building a community of learners who provide each other with the necessary life-skill and resource support for a thriving campus experience.

    SAEM Student Learning Objectives

Students who engage in Host Mentoring educational programs, social activities, mentoring sessions, and services provided by the Multicultural & Student Activities Programs will (or will be able to):

    • Apply theories, concepts, and previous experiences to inform new situations and creatively solve practical problems as they transition to university life. These skills will help them live a healthy and productive life.
