Up & Coming Scholars Program

Purpose

The Up & Coming Scholars Program allows worthy high school students of good academic ability the chance to plan, prepare for and pursue a college degree.

Participants

Students from the Tom Green County school districts: San Angelo, Christoval, Grape Creek, Veribest, Wall and Water Valley.

Selection Process and Criteria

  • Students must rank in the top one-third of their class at the end of their freshman (ninth grade) year and are invited to apply for the Up & Coming Scholars Program based on their academic progress and financial need.
  • Once selected, students must then maintain an academic standing in the top half of their class each year. 
  • Program participants in good standing will be required to meet the admission standards of all students seeking admittance to Angelo State University.

  • The use of designated campus computer labs
  • Free admission to ASU home intercollegiate athletic events
