Financial Assistance Available Through the Department of Nursing: To be considered for financial assistance through the Department of Nursing, you must have been accepted to both the Graduate School and the Department of Nursing. There are a variety of programs available to MSN students including:
A traineeship will pay all, or part of, the costs of the tuition, books, and fees of a program of advanced nurse education, and the reasonable living expenses of the individual during the period for which the traineeship is provided. The amount of individual traineeships varies depending on the total amount of funding received by the Department of Nursing for traineeships, number of hours a student is enrolled in per semester, and the number of students applying for traineeships.
Under the Advanced Education Nursing Traineeship Program, support is limited to a maximum period of 36 months. Support for part-time study is limited to a maximum period of 12 months for students completing the last year of study.
Students must apply/reapply for a traineeship at least four weeks prior to each long semester. Students receiving a traineeship will be required to reimburse the University if they withdraw from the graduate program.
To apply for a traineeship, complete the Complete the Graduate Nursing Financial Aid Application and submit it to the Department of Nursing. The Department Head and Graduate Advisor will make final decisions on traineeship recipients.
