Welcome to the College of
Nursing and Allied Health!

Mission Statement: To educate competent health care professionals who will enhance the quality of life of individuals in a dynamic and diverse society.

The College of Nursing and Allied Health was created in 2008 by the Texas Tech University System Board of Regents. It integrated the Department of Nursing and Department of Physical Therapy, both formerly housed under the ASU College of Sciences, to provide greater opportunities for ASU to expand its health care offerings.

The growth of the College of Nursing and Allied Health will follow three phases. Phase I, the development phase, will include providing the administrative infrastructure, completing development of the new Doctor of Physical Therapy Program and securing ongoing legislative funding.

Phase II will initiate the development of a Center for Rural Health, Wellness and Rehabilitation. In an effort to meet the growing health care needs of our regional community, the center will be a hands-on training ground  for ASU students while providing vital information and services to rural populations.

The third phase will focus on expanding new academic programs, including a bachelor’s degree in health care communications and informatics as well as master’s degrees in occupational therapy, rehabilitation counseling, and rural and international health care.
