Dr. Fisher received her BS degree in Physical Therapy from State University of New York at Buffalo in 1974, her post-professional Master of Physical Therapy degree from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in Provo, Utah in 2000, and her transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Daemen College in Amherst, New York in 2008. She was certified as an ABPTS certified pediatric specialist in 1994 and recertified in 2004. Clinical experience beginning in 1974 has included inpatient and outpatient pediatric rehabilitation, acute adult and pediatric care, adult home health, school based care and early childhood intervention. She currently has a subspecialty in pediatric physical therapy working with neonates in the neonatal intensive care units at 5 hospitals in El Paso. She has volunteered in an children’s orthopedic clinic in Juarez, Mexico for 22 years providing physical therapy treatment for children in Mexico.
Dr. Fisher joined the Physical Therapy Department in spring 2005 and teaches the pediatric unit in the Physical Therapist Motor Development and Enhancement throughout the Lifespan.
She is an active member of the Texas Physical Therapy Association and American Physical Therapy Association. She currently serves as President of the Texas Physical Therapy Association.
