Dr. Hung received his B.S. in physical therapy from Chung Shan Medical University in Taiwan.  After practicing as a physical therapist for several years, he went to study at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and received his M.S. degree in Human Movement Science with a focus on orthopedics and sport physical therapy.  He further completed his Ph.D. degree in Integrative Physiology (Exercise Science) at the University of Iowa with a focus on motor control.  Dr. Hung has been a licensed physical therapist in the United States since 1998.

Dr. Hung taught Introduction to Biomechanics and Physical Education Skill classes at the University of Iowa.  He joined the Physical Therapy Department at Angelo State University in May 2009.  He is teaching Motor Control and Clinical Applications, Therapeutic Exercise and assists in Orthopaedics.

Dr. Hung studied shoulder position sense and kinesthetically guided reaching accuracy in individuals with anterior shoulder instability for his doctoral work.  To further examine the topic, he is interested in upper limb coordination and reaching accuracy in individuals with various types of shoulder instability and different levels of injury severity.  Dr. Hung is also pursuing research on the impact of conservative treatments that are commonly implemented by physical therapists to better upper limb motor control and prevent recurrent injuries.
