The Minor In Social Work

The Department of Psychology, Sociology, and Social Work at Angelo State University is offering a social work minor to interested students beginning in the 2007 fall semester. The foundation of the social work minor is grounded in the person-in-environment perspective, providing students with an understanding of people who may require social services. Students are offered courses that will expose them to assessment and evaluation methods, communication and intervention skills, and program evaluation methods essential in today’s outcome based social service environment. Additionally, the social work minor provides exposure to the social work profession that may assist students who desire admission to graduate programs in social work, applied sociology, applied psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, public administration, and so forth.
