The Massies
A Long Tradition of Campus and Community Involvement
The Massies have a long tradition of strong and active hall councils and involvement in campus and community events! Popular with returning students, it's not uncommon for a student to return to live at "Massie" for several years in a row. Home to a mix of first-year and upper-class students, the hybrid nature of the community; along with the "mid-size" of the buildings, fosters great opportunities for mentoring and leadership. Upperclassmen can share their experiences with new students, and new students have ready access to their more experienced counterparts as they learn the ins and outs of college life.
The 178 students in each Massie Hall can enjoy using the large main floor lounge for social gatherings and events. Smaller study rooms are located on the 2nd and 3rd floors. The Massies are located on the east end of campus near the Food Service Center, recreational areas and academic buildings.
Triples Notice: The Massie Halls are NOT expected to be tripled (a third student assigned to the room) for 2008-2009 at this time. Overflow and temporary housing will be housed first at Concho Hall. The Massies will be tripled only if available spaces at Concho Hall have been exhausted. Please check for updates on the Residential Programs homepage over the summer. As spaces becomes available on campus, "triple" students will be moved out so that double occupancy may be restored.
