Vanderventer represents a less structured environment for busy students who want to take advantage of all the convenience and involvement opportunities associated with living on campus. Vanderventer residents take advantage of the mild climate and can frequently be seen studying, eating or just socializing outside in the courtyard. Students may choose to cook "at home" in their apartments, purchase a meal plan or take advantage of the community BBQ's to do a little dining outside with neighbors and friends. Access to the large, ground floor laundry facility is restricted to Vanderventer residents only and is regulated by ID card/PIN access.

- Each four person apartment has a shared living room and kitchen, 2 bedrooms (double occupancy) which share the bathroom suite style. Bedrooms have separate sink and vanity areas
- Walk-in closets
- Local phone service with 1 phone jack per room
- Expanded Basic cable TV service
- Moveable beds, desks
- 2 Ethernet Internet connections per bedroom
- Limited number of ADA / Accessible rooms available

- Home to 150 students
- Assignment priority to Vanderventer Student Apartments is given to current and returning residents during the Spring re-application process.
- 24-hour visitation allowed
- Smoking prohibited in apartments and rooms
- Alcoholic beverages allowed within the guidelines of the alcohol and beverages policy
- Four Resident Assistants live on-site in the Vanderventer complex

- Laundry facilities located on ground floor level with coin operated machines that also accept Ram Bucks
- BBQ / Courtyard Area located in the center of the complex. Picnic tables have a wooden pagoda style cover with 4 BBQ grills for community use
