  • Contract Renewal

Students who are no longer required to live on-campus but have enjoyed their housing experience may renew their housing for the upcoming academic year starting March 20, 2018.  Rooms from all residence halls (except Concho Hall) will be available for renewal students to list as their preference.

    • How do I know if I am required to live on campus?
      • Students who lived in University-owned housing for a minimum of 2 long (Fall or Spring) semesters will no longer be required to live on campus, and will be considered automatically exempt from the housing requirement. These students will not have to request exemption.  However, should they want to live on campus, they may participate in the Renewal Process beginning March 20, 2018.
      • Students who have not lived in University-owned housing for a minimum of 2 long (Fall or Spring) semesters will be required to live on campus. Subsequent summer hours will not count toward the requirement.  These students will also renew their housing beginning March 20, 2018.
    • I want to live on-campus again next year. How do I do that?

Starting March 20, 2018, go to MyHousing and fill out the Fall 2018/Spring 2019 Renewal Application. After you apply and pay your application fee of $100, you will be able to immediately select a room. If you want a specific roommate, all you need to do is select the same room as your roommate.

    • I only lived on campus during the spring. How do I renew my housing for Fall 2018?

    • Can I renew my contract for one semester?

Our contract has been updated to make renewal contracts for one semester rather than the academic year. This means that if you choose to renew, next year, you may cancel your housing at semester if you wish, free of penalty. This is something that only applies to renewal students, and is not offered to incoming students, who still must live on campus for both the fall and spring terms.

    • I am interested in living in a Living/Learning Community. How do I renew?

Students who desire to live in a Living/Learning Community (LLC) just need to indicate which LLC they want to reside in on their application. LLC students need to email the housing department, or come by the housing office if they have a roommate preference. Otherwise, you will be assigned according to the LLC you listed on the housing application.

      About Living/Learning Communities:
        • The purpose of a living learning community is to bring together groups of students with a common academic interest or group goal. As a cohort, students experience the year together. This experience includes shared courses, study groups, social activities, and educational activities designed to give students marketable and transferable skills or to increase their general knowledge base on a given subject.  Students who have chosen to expand their education through shared learning experiences that happen both in and out of the classroom.  By participating in a living learning community, you agree to attend events and programs hosted by the Residential Programs staff as well as the other faculty and staff involved in the LLC.  Students participating in the LLC will live in a selected area of a residence hall together.

There are four living learning communities available:

          • Agriculture: Must be an Ag major (Location: Plaza Verde)

          • Students feel more connected to their peers, faculty, and University at large
