Aerospace Studies
Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) Detachment 847 at Angelo State University offers superb leadership training and provides job security after graduation. Graduates are commissioned as second lieutenants in the Air Force and begin careers with competitive wages and benefits, including health insurance.
Leadership Environment
ROTC cadets learn how to lead, manage and communicate professionally. They get hands-on experience leading their classmates and take courses each year that introduce them to the Air Force culture.
Since ROTC cadets can choose any major available at ASU, they have the chance to meet and become friends with a diverse group of peer cadets. Our program instructors also take a genuine interest in cadets’ lives, offering guidance with coursework, help finding summer jobs and support during times of crisis.
Top-Notch Facilities
The Aerospace Studies Department uses the latest classroom technologies in its leadership labs. Cadets have access to a departmental library and a simulated training room that prepares them for summer field training. The department also has its own space for meetings and organizing volunteer efforts.
