SMART Council Statement of Purpose
The SMART Council is comprised of representatives from the Freshman College, ASU Tutor Center, Writing Center, Supplemental Instruction (SI), and Math Lab.
The SMART Council advertises and promotes SMART across the university campus by educating students, faculty, and staff about the variety of available tutoring services and emphasizing the benefits of a cafeteria-style selection of academic support. The SMART Council collaborates and shares talents and resources; monitors and oversees the continued development of our proprietary SMART Trac software for managing data and academic support assessment; provides SMART tutoring assessment data to academic departments to the maximum extent legally and ethically possible; and promotes the use of best practices regarding academic support services.
