Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer

The Texas Tech University System defines intellectual property as "inventions, innovations, discoveries, improvements, biological materials, proprietary materials, plants, copyrightable works, trademarks, and tangible research property." The System's Office of Technology Commercialization provides researchers with assistance in protecting intellectual property and in developing and commercializing inventions.

Faculty, staff, and students are required to disclose all intellectual property to the Office of Technology Commercialization. If you need to make a disclosure or if you would like more information about this process, please contact ASU's Office of Sponsored Projects.

The System's statement on intellectual property is located in Chapter 10 of the Regents' Rules.
