Instructions to Faculty for Usage of ASU Computerized Testing Center
- The ASU Computerized Testing Center will be reserved as scheduled through the Web or by e-mail unless specialty scheduling is needed. In such cases, prior arrangements should be made with Testing Center Director Virginia Lester.
- The testing center director maintains the Central Calendar for scheduling dates.
- Please schedule tests as far in advance as possible. A minimum of eight weeks is preferred.
- Priority for scheduling available exams:
- Nursing
- First scheduled, first served
- Last minute scheduling based upon space available
- Maximum security will be maintained at all times with security cameras recording all testing periods. If cheating is observed, the instructor will be notified and university guidelines will be followed.
- All belongings will be left in a storage unit for each student at the student’s own risk. (Please remind students to leave most of their belongings in their cars, if possible.)
- Monitoring staff will not have a key or a copy of the exam. Therefore, remind the students that staff will not have any knowledge of test content.
- Testing time allocations will be followed. If you schedule the test and the student is late, only the remaining time will be permitted to take the test. If the student chooses to leave for bathroom breaks, no extra time will be allowed.
- Remind students that no personal electronic equipment, phones, calculators, paper, pencils, books, hats, etc., will be allowed in the testing booth. All essential items will be provided by the Testing Center and must be returned before students leave.
- The only programs students can access are the appropriate tests. No printing will be available.
- Remind students to read the directions clearly for any specifics that will make a difference in their response, especially for fill-in-the-blank questions or calculations.
- Explain to students clearly on how the rationales for their responses will be given. This is guided by your directions when creating the exam and applying the security process.
- Student picture IDs will be required to take the exam. The ID must match the student enrolled in that course or section.
- Remind students to pick up their IDs after the exam is completed.
The above policies should be viewed as a guide only. They may be modified during the semester.
