Outdoor Trips is one of University Recreation and Outdoor Adventures’ brand new programming areas. These outdoor trips are intended to provide an outlet to university students to relax and unwind from their studies. No experience necessary, just a positive attitude and a hankering for a good time.

Pre-Trip Meeting: February 21, 5-6 p.m. in the Conference Room
“E-Rock” is sure to be considered a Texas gem. This trip explores the granite domes jetting from nowhere and the meandering trails around them. With its location and elevation, E-Rock has the potential for some great sunrises and amazing star gazing. This trip includes camping gear, transportation, instruction, and some gourmet camping meals during the trip.
Spring-Break Backpacking

Have you been looking for an affordable spring-break get-away? Look no further! Outdoor Adventures is offering a five-day backpacking trip to the beautiful Chisos Basin of Big Bend National Park. Create a memorable time with us by experiencing: backpacking, camping, gourmet camping meals, sweeping vistas, wildlife, hot springs, and much more. We have the camping equipment – all you need to do is prepare yourself for a good time. The price includes transportation, technical camping equipment, instruction, and meals during the trip.
Day Mountain Bike Trip
Saturday, April 21
Pre-Trip Meeting: April 17, 5-6 p.m. in the Conference Room
Come experience some of the best mountain biking West Texas has to offer with Outdoor Adventures at San Angelo State Park. No bike? No worries. Use one of Outdoor Adventures’ new Specialized mountain bikes as we cruise over some single-track trails and through the woods. The cost on this trip covers transportation, entrance fees, instruction, gear, and lunch.
Guidelines for Trip and Clinic Registration
To register for your adventure, stop by CHP Room 112 during normal business hours, complete a registration form, and provide payment in the form of cash, check (made payable to : Angelo State University), or credit/debit card.
All sales are final, there are no refunds. Only ASU students with a valid OneCard may register for Outdoor Trips and Educational Clinics. Participants are served on a first-come first-serve basis, and full payment is required to reserve a spot.
