Instructional Technology |

Network Infrastructure |
The West Texas Training Center is wired with a MM Fiber/CAT5E infrastructure. All drops are switched 100 Megabit with 1 Gigabit backbone between switches provided by fiber uplinks. Routing for the system is accomplished by a router per organizational entity which handles the LAN routing and the WAN connection for each entity. Cross organizational communication is implemented so that all LANs may remain separate on their WAN connections, but communication between the LANs for video conferencing and other applications is still possible.

Wireless Network |
Wireless access is provided throughout the building by Cisco Access Points. Speeds of up to 11 Megabit can be achieved across this network. The West Texas Training Center is equipped with 10 Dell notebook computers configured for access to this wireless network for mobile labs or ad hoc presentations. While the wireless network is open for access by all entities at the training center, the internet access for this network is provided by ASU and thus ASU reserves the right to limit access to the internet across this network. The WTTC Wireless Network FAQ can be accessed here.
