Research History and Interests
I have spent considerable time studying medication errors in both field and laboratory settings. I have worked with organizations such as McKesson, the National Association of Chain Drug Stores, and the Institute for Safe Medication Practices in the study of this topic. That work continues to evolve and has proven quite challenging and rewarding. I am currently preparing pathways to bridge over to other types of industry with what I learned from the pharmacy.
I also have interests in such areas as theories of self-awareness (specifically with respect to the quality of our own task performance in the absence of feedback), workload (mainly subjective measures), regulatory focus and multiple task performance.
