Who are we?
Community Development Initiatives (CDI) is based in the Department of Psychology, Sociology, and Social Work at Angelo State University. CDI began in the fall of 2007. It grew out discussions among faculty members over two questions. First, we thought about ways we could bring faculty and students together into meaningful collaborative research and learning projects. Secondly, we discussed ways to better link our faculty and student efforts to the real world around us. CDI reflects the steps we are taking in the department to work more closely together in our research and learning, and to link what we do in practical ways to the community that supports us.
Two faculty members serve as co-directors of CDI. They are:
Dr. Joel L. Carr
Assistant Professor of Social Work and Sociology

Dr. Kenneth L. Stewart
