I teach classes in
several areas. My primary areas of interest are in sport psychology,
sport sociology and sport pedagogy. All of my classes utilize an online
course portal. I will list a couple of links in each area to get you started. Sport
Psychology Sport Psychology refers to using
psychological techniques for the enhancement of sport performance. You
may have heard the statement that "sport is 90% mental."
Sport psychologists believe that "sport is 90% physical but it's the 10%
mental that causes the problems 90% of the time." Check out the
links below if you are interested in learning more about this field of study. Sport
Sociology Sport sociology is the
study of the role of sport in society. We study many issues such as,
gender equity in sport, violence and aggression in sport, politics and sport,
economics and sport, sport and the mass media, fanatic sports fans, sport and
education, professional sports, racism in sport among others. It is a
fascinating field of study. Click on the link below to learn more. Sport
Pedagogy Sport
pedagogy refers to the study of educational principles and practices with
regard to teaching physical education. This area of study looks at
various teaching methods, principles and practices for teaching physical
education. When taught properly, physical education can be a valuable
and long lasting experience for our students. We teach something that
students can use every day of their lives! Look at the following web sites
to learn more. |
