Lab 10
FISH FARM 2

Introduction

The first week of this lab you ran a series of experiments, in small tanks, to discover what catfish need to live and to grow. You determined that catfish grow best with:

  1. Moderate temperatures (not too cold or hot);
  2. Oxygen levels above a certain minimum level and;
  3. Some protein in their food.

This week you will try take your knowledge of catfish biology and scale it up to a commercial operation.  You will borrow money to purchase young fish with the goal of making $250,000 profit at the end of the year.  Not bad work but if the fish all die the bank won’t be happy.

This week there is a pre-lab quiz and the class activity. Your primary goal in class will be to make $250,000 three times.
