Grading

  1. Your lab grade constitutes 25% of your final grade in Biology 1411. Your lab grade will be determined as follows:
    1. There are 12 lab activities in the semester worth 1300 points; the first 11 labs are worth 100 possible points, the last lab stretches out over a couple of weeks and is worth 200 points. Points will be earned in various ways including pre-lab quizzes, activities during lab and post-lab quizzes.
    2. Your lab grade is an average of the points earned in all labs. All of your scores will be summed and divided by 13. You will receive a zero for any lab you miss. A make-up lab is available once each week (see below).
  2. Most weeks you will need to take a prelab quiz on the Blackboard web site (blackboard.angelo.edu). These quizzes are worth 20 points of each week's lab grade. Before you attempt these quizzes you should read the lab material that is posted on the course web site, http://www.angelo.edu/faculty/mdixon/ManEnvironment/manenvlab.htm.
