Institutional Accreditation
Angelo State University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award associate, baccalaureate, masters, and doctorate degrees. Normal inquiries about Angelo State University, such as admission requirements, financial aid, educational programs, etc., should be addressed directly to Angelo State University and not to the Commission’s office.
Standards of Accreditation
Angelo State University maintains institutional accreditation through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools-Commission on Colleges. The Commission’s mission is “the enhancement of educational quality throughout the region, and it strives to improve the effectiveness of institutions by ensuring that institutions meet standards established by the higher education community that address the needs of society and students” (from the SACS-COC website).

Required Reports
Angelo State University participates in a decennial process of reaffirmation, with the next visit and review scheduled for fall 2012-spring 2013. Interested individuals can review the 2002 reaffirmation, visiting team’s report, and institutional response in PDF format.

Referral Report (in response to Fifth Year Interim Report)
Angelo State University submitted its first referral report in response to the July 2009 ruling by the Commission on Colleges that ASU was deficient in two areas: Core Requirement 2.8 (Faculty Qualifications) and Comprehensive Standard 3.3.1.1. (Institutional Effectiveness-Educational Programs): Referral Report
